BAFTA Best Actress winner Carey Mulligan is donating the Vionnet gown she wore to accept the British acting honor to Oxfam in an effort to raise money for impoverished women. Mulligan’s floral print silk dress with black leather sash joins other fashionable donations from Elle Macpherson and Alexa Chung in the week-long auction, which begins this Thursday on Oxfam.org.uk. In conjunction with the auction, the pieces will be on display at Oxfam’s Curiosity Shop pop-up at Selfridges in London where British stars such as Annie Lennox will lend their support. Funds raised will go towards the organization’s campaigns to empower women around the world to fight violence, HIV and AIDS.
