Newton-John Gets Physical on Glee

May 4, 2010 @ 6:15 pm

Calling all Gleeks: We caught up with music legend Olivia Newton-John and got the dish on her Glee debut tonight! “It appealed to me because it’s such a great show about music. I was very flattered to be asked,” she told us.  Among other numbers, the Aussie re-lived her 80s hit “Physical.” “For our dance routine, they reconstructed the gym as it was when I did it in the ’80s. I’ve never laughed so much!  My face was hurting,” she said.  But leg warmers and killer vocals aren’t all Newton-John shared with the Glee cast. While on set, the thoughtful star handed out Zamus, her favorite herbal drink from Amazon Herb Company, which was founded by her husband, Amazon John.  “The cast loved it,” she said adding, “They are all so gifted and lovely!” Catch Olivia Newton-John’s Glee debut tonight at 10p.m. EST on FOX!

Update: Watch Olivia Newton-John and Jane Lynch get physical on Glee after the jump!

Betty White: 60 Years of Star Style

May 4, 2010 @ 6:13 pm

Betty White has been sporting her signature bouffant, red lips and big smile for the past 60 years. While her style may never have changed drastically, The Golden Girls star’s career has recently, getting a serious boost after a memorable role in last year’s The Proposal and a hilarious Snickers commercial during the Super Bowl. White’s hot streak continues as she hosts Saturday Night Live this weekend and stars in the upcoming comedy You Again with Kristen Bell. We’ll always love her as Rose from St. Olaf, Minnesota, but this year’s hottest octogenarian is guaranteed to keep serving up some serious funnies, bouffant and all.

Hollywood Scores On Broadway

May 4, 2010 @ 5:53 pm

While they’re known for their performances on the silver screen, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johansson have both earned Tony nominations for their work on the Great White Way. “In my dreams, I couldn’t imagine a better way to make my Broadway debut,” Zeta-Jones, up for Lead Actress in a Musical for A Little Night Music, told BroadwayWorld.com. Ditto Johansson, who admitted that receiving a nomination for Featured Actress in a Play for her first Broadway role in A View from the Bridge is, “a dream come true.” Jude Law, Laura Linney and Liev Schreiber are among the other Hollywood actors up for the coveted Tony medallion this year. If you hear the bright lights of Broadway calling, upload a video of yourself belting out a show tune on the Macy’s Sing Your Way to the Tony Awards contest Web site for the chance to walk the red carpet at the ceremony in New York City. Those of us who restrict our singing to the shower can watch the action unfold when the Tony Awards air live on CBS on Sunday, June 13.

Katy Perry’s Light-Up Gown

While her fellow guests paraded past in Lanvin, Marchesa and Halston, Katy Perry brightened up the red carpet at the Costume Institute gala in an LED (light emitting diode) CuteCircuit gown she helped design. CuteCircuit’s Ryan Genz tells us that Katy and creative director Francesca Rosealla chose the fabrics, the cut, and even the design of the multi-colored lights, which Perry demonstrated using an on/off switch nestled in her cleavage. “Fashion can be a little stuffy, so I wanted to lighten up,” the singer said of her ensemble. If you’re lit up by the idea of wearable technology, you’re in luck: Later this month the company will launch a pret-a-porter line, including a minidress that displays a variety of colors and graphics cued by the wearer’s movements. Do you think Katy’s electric dress is a sign of what’s to come in fashion? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
