When Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana hosted a party for Madonna in Milan last summer, the trio did more than just celebrate; they decided to create MDG, D&G’s first product collaboration with a celebrity. “We never plan ahead, but when the idea came up, all of us realized it was the right moment,” says Gabbana. “With the line we want to capture femininity and extreme sensuality.” That attitude was caught on film by photographer Steven Klein for the ad campaign, which features the pop icon in a steamy embrace. Says Gabbana, “The images evoke the essence of a star like Madonna: admired, chased, spied on, and adored—but never completely revealed.” Click on to see exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and a peek at the sunglasses collection.

It’s obvious the writer of this article didn’t spend any time in researching. Dolce Gabbana have two different lines of sunglasses. Dolce Gabbana which has a DG on the arm and D&G which has a & between the DG. The D&G line is a less expensive of the DG line. The sunglasses shown in your article are DG which is the Dolce Gabbana sunglass line and the more expensive line. Why are you referring to the glasses as D&G? It’s a completly different line of sunglasses that are less expensive and happen to be made by the same company.
