We were saddened to hear that Designing Women star Dixie Carter passed away on Saturday at age 70. Her memorable character, the tough-but-sweet Southern belle Julia Sugarbaker, still stands as inspiration for strong, opinionated women everywhere and our favorite clip proves it. In her famous “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” speech, Julia defended her sister Suzanne (played by the lovely Delta Burke) from a snooty pageant queen by unleashing a fury that’s pretty hard to beat. Enjoy the classic scene and share your favorite Dixie Carter moments in the comments section below!

The cast of Glee gives a nod to pop legend Madonna on this week’s cover of TV Guide dressed in head-to-toe recreations of some her most iconic music video fashions. Lea Michele channels Madonna’s pink ambition from her “Material Girl” video with the help of a tux-clad Matthew Morrison. Amber Riley works her famous white Lolita lace “Like A Virgin” bridal get-up, while Jenna Ushkowitz channels her classic ’80s workout gear from “Physical Attraction.” Dianna Argon gets glam with a bold red lip and sexy black corset a la “Express Yourself” and Jane Lynch rocks Madge’s “Vogue” cone bra. The dress-up is to celebrate their all-Madonna-songs episode, airing April 20th, where (spoiler alert!) Lynch finds her own way to “Vogue,” and “Like A Virgin” gets the full-on Glee-treatment!

Swarovski has nabbed a coveted guest spot in the highly-anticipated Sex And The City 2. From their glittering crystal chandeliers bedecking the set (top, right) to their itty bitty crystal-studded Kiosque bag (bottom, right) spotted in Carrie’s closet, the brand is lending its famous sparkle to the stylish sequel. Kim Cattrall and Miley Cyrus, who makes a who-wore-it-best cameo, were also spotted on the red carpet at what looks like a Swarovski-sponsored fete in the film! “Swarvoski is the perfect fit for the fabulous foursome and represents everything the movie evokes: fashion, glamour, femininity and a strong sense of personal style,” Vice President of International Communications Nadja Swarvoski told WWD. To celebrate their role in the film, Swarovski is giving their 800-plus boutiques the SATC window treatment by decorating them in the style of the four famous characters.

If you have plans to jet to London in the near future, add the Victoria & Albert Museum to your itinerary! An exhibit honoring iconic sophisticate, Grace Kelly, opens at the British museum this Saturday and features tons of vintage fashion from the star’s wardrobe. The exhibit is curated in three sections: “The Actress,” which features wardrobe from her classic films like Rear Window and To Catch A Thief; “The Bride,” which follows her style during her romance and wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco; and “The Princess,” a study in the European high fashions she embraced as Princess Grace. Also don’t miss the actress’s original pigskin Hermes “Kelly” handbag, which the brand famously named in her honor. If you can’t make the trip, a companion book, Grace Kelly Style, will be released in conjunction with the opening—perfect for perusing her timeless style for outfit inspirations!
