Proenza Schouler‘s Spring 2010 collection, with its covetable tie-dye separates that ooze surfer girl cool, is now just a weekend craft project away! On the The Martha Stewart Show yesterday, designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough showed viewers how to DIY a brightly-patterned tie-die scarf. Forget rubber bands and buckets of harsh chemicals: They created multi-colored silks using Simply Spray fabric paint. Still, perfection is all relative: “Mine is terrible, Martha!” laughed McCollough when he showed his final product to the domestic goddess. Pressed for time or just got a manicure? Proenza Schouler’s tie-dye tank—sure to be your summer go-to—is now available for a limited time only at proenzaschouler.com. Check out the boys’ how-to video after the jump!

Simply spray fabric paint is one of the worst products on the market, especially for this aplication. Tie Dye should nevr be done with ANYTHING other than MX dyes.
