In a new video interview, Balenciaga designer Nicholas Ghesquiere dishes (en francais) about his new fragrance for the French fashion house. “We thought it was the right time, after 12 years, to launch a first perfume, because it’s the first perfume in a series,” Ghesquiere spills in the interview. We also get the inside scoop on Ghesquiere’s decision to use muse Charlotte Gainsbourg as the face of the fragrance, his meeting with fashion photographer Stephen Meisel, who shot the ad campaign, and his inspiration for the violet-tinged scent.
