Cast Says Goodbye To Ugly Betty

Apr 1, 2010 @ 4:40 pm

“Tomorrow morning is my last Ugly Betty scene evah!” Michael Urie tweeted on Monday. “Think if I don’t show up, it’ll mean they can’t cancel us?” Sadly, the fate of the show has already been decided, but that doesn’t mean the tight-knit cast is going their separate ways. Tonight they’ll gather for a wrap party in N.Y.C., where guests will get to sing karaoke with backup from a live band (we’d die to see Urie and Becki Newton perform a duet in character as their awful alter-egos, Marc and Amanda!) and on April 12th, they’ll help America Ferrera host an auction of Betty-inspired artwork (inset) to benefit Save the Children. No word on whether the group will get together to watch the series finale on April 14th, but we know we’ll be glued to the TV. Earlier this year show creator Silvio Horta admitted that a love match between Betty and Daniel “is not outside the realm of possibility” and now our sources hint that a few will-they-or-won’t-they moments in the final two episodes will keep us in suspense until the very end. Tell us: Should Betty and Daniel end up together?

Elle & Diane Debut New Shades For Spring

Apr 1, 2010 @ 4:21 pm

Hollywood is blocking out the rays in two of our new favorite labels—Victoria Beckham Eyewear and Jason Wu for MODO. Elle Macpherson was spotted in Bechkam’s ruby-hued “Acetate Wayfarer” ($349 at bergdorfgoodman.com) in N.Y.C, and Diane Kruger debuted Wu’s onyx “Seberg” shades ($275 at modoshop.com) at the airport. While there is no substitute for classic black or tortoise frames, we think bold colors like red and blue are the perfect style statement for that inevitable second pair you crave come spring.

First Lady Michelle Obama stays stylish even while gardening! Mrs. O celebrated the first anniversary of the White House Kitchen Garden in chic fitted black pants, a Clu cardigan (with an adorable Schiaparelli pink ruffle on the back!) and gray Converse sneakers. Forty children from local elementary schools joined the First Lady in planting new seeds of bok choy, white cauliflower, artichokes and mustard greens to the South Lawn garden, which has expanded 400 square feet since breaking ground last year. “There’s nothing like watching tiny seeds grow into something amazing.  But the garden was about more than just planning healthy food,” Mrs. Obama told ABC News. “We also began a conversation about getting kids and parents and teachers all across the country thinking about living healthy.” Click on for more photos of the First Lady getting her hands dirty in the Kitchen Garden.

Watch Cameron In The Knight and Day Trailer

Apr 1, 2010 @ 12:52 pm

Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise look like the big screen’s next big action duo in the trailer for their upcoming flick, Knight and Day. The superstars, who last shared the screen together in the 2001 drama Vanilla Sky, play perfect strangers on the run from government agents and assorted gun-toting men. Thrilling car chases and exploding, well, everything will definitely keep us on the edge of our seats, but it’s watching Diaz and Cruz’s onscreen chemistry that we’re looking forward to most when the movie hits theaters on June 25. Check out the trailer to find out what happens when Diaz gets hold of a machine gun!

Williamson’s Gossip Girl‘d Windows!

Apr 1, 2010 @ 12:42 pm

Gossip Girl fans who pass by designer Matthew Williamson’s boutique in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District won’t have to wait until Monday to see what Leighton Meester wears on Monday’s upcoming episode. Williamson teamed up with the show’s costume designer Eric Daman to create a window display at his downtown New York City store featuring a halter dress Meester’s character Blair Waldorf buys at the boutique and then wears later on in the show. The dress, worn by a brunette mannequin with flowing Meester-esque tresses, is a departure from the looks Blair usually sports. “I wanted it to represent innocence, purity, vulnerability—characteristics that are not usually explored with Blair’s character,” Daman told WWD.
