Katy Perry Talks Wedding, Gets Slimed

Mar 29, 2010 @ 1:26 pm

When Katy Perry opened the box to reveal the Favorite Movie Actress Award at Saturday night’s Kids’ Choice Awards (Miley Cyrus took home the title) she was caught with a signature Nickelodeon surprise—a dose of bright green slime! Before her unfortunate sliming, the bride-to-be, in a blue wig and ultra minidress dress by the Blonds, was all smiles on the red carpet dishing about her upcoming nuptials to comedian Russell Brand. “I’m preparing a little bit here and there. I have to stop eating McDonalds and start my dance classes,” the singer told us. “[Russell] likes to buy those bride magazines. He’s a bridezilla! He wants everything to be monogrammed. I’m like, ‘You plan the wedding!’” While she hasn’t picked out a gown yet, she did tell us what designer she leaning towards: “Well, the Blonds did my dress today and I love them.” Watch Katy Perry get slimed after the jump!

Kylie Minogue, Claudia Schiffer and Sienna Miller went au naturel for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer 2010 campaign shot by Mario Testino. This year, instead of wearing the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer logo T-shirt, the ladies were wrapped in a black-and-white silk sheet bearing the organization’s target logo. Participating in the breast cancer awareness campaign, which benefits the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, holds a special meaning for Minogue, who was diagnosed with the disease five years ago. “It means so much to me to be part of this year’s campaign,” she said. Black-and-white items from UK-based retailers such as Topshop and Laura Ashley are also for sale online as part of the campaign with 30% of the proceeds going to the charity.

Carey Mulligan To Star in My Fair Lady Remake?

Wouldn’t it be lovely if someone remade the classic musical My Fair Lady with a fresh face—say, Carey Mulligan—in the role of Eliza Dolittle? Our wishes may have been granted: Emma Thompson told BBC News that she is writing a remake with Mulligan set to play the iconic Cockney flower girl. The young British actress made a splash this year for her role in An Education, garnering an Oscar nomination and comparisons to Audrey Hepburn, who played Eliza in the 1964 original. The role of Dolittle’s mentor, Henry Higgins, has yet to be cast, but Thompson has another Brit in mind. “I love Hugh Grant so I’d love him to do it,” she said to BBC News.  We love the idea of Grant and Mulligan singing “The Rain in Spain” not to mention the fabulous fashion moments as Dolittle makes her transformation. When can we expect the sure-to-be dazzling remake? “Hopefully…later this year,” said Thompson.
