We sat down with pop star/fashion designer Gwen Stefani for the April issue of InStyle to find out, among other things, how she balances her career as a megawatt musician and L.A.M.B. designer.  “I have to be creative to be happy,” Stefani told us. As for why she started designing all those years ago? “I wanted so badly to have a backup plan for when I’m not performing anymore. Let’s be realistic: it’s not going to be like this forever. So I wanted to continue having something creative to do. I don’t have a strong sense of self-worth unless I’m doing something. I was a different person before I started to write. When I realized I could be a songwriter and that people would listen—that was when I started feeling good in my life.” Check out more of Gwen’s exclusive interview (including info on that wardrobe and her adorable family) in the April issue of InStyle, on newsstands this Friday.

The first picture from the set of Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake’s new comedy, Bad Teacher, was just released and the famous exes look adorable! Diaz, who plays a party-loving 7th grade teacher in pursuit of the hot and wealthy substitute (Timberlake), grooves at the school dance in a little red dress and black leather jacket. Timberlake embodies geek chic in a classic plaid shirt, green bow tie and glasses. The film is due out in 2011 and we can’t wait to see it!

Taylor Jacobson Heads to Armani Exchange

Mar 16, 2010 @ 11:33 am

The Rachel Zoe Project won’t be the same without Taylor Jacobson, but it looks like she is doing just fine out in the working world.  The former stylist’s assistant has just been recruited as Armani Exchange’s first-ever visual consultant and fashion expert. Her first order of business?  Style the brand’s new concept store on L.A.’s Robertson Blvd. “I was inspired by the idea of ‘seasonless’ dressing. I wanted to embellish the key essentials we all have and build on them using chic separates, layering pieces and statement jewelry,” she told Fashionindie.com. Along with her new duties at Armani Exchange, Jacobson also blogs regularly as the face of beauty brand Everyday Minerals.

Tilda Swinton’s New Fragrance Smells Like Christmas

Mar 16, 2010 @ 11:00 am

Was actress Tilda Swinton‘s hair color the inspiration behind her new scent? Swinton told WWD that her fragrance, called Like This, contains notes of ginger, a taste and smell she loves. Coincidence? Maybe, but we still can’t wait to get a whiff of the the scent, which also boasts notes of tangerine, pumpkin, vetiver and musk. “My son tells me [Like This] smells like Christmas,” she said. Like This, which is named after a work by 13th-century poet Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi, is coming to the U.S. this June.
