“And God Created Women” announced the program for Marc Jacob’s Fall 2010 show for Louis Vuitton, where iconic supermodels and voluptuous Victoria’s Secret Angels paraded retro sexy clothes around the courtyard fountain at the Louvre. Laetitia Casta opened the show in a full-skirted ’50s dress with decolletage aplenty, followed by Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Bar Refaeli in ladylike looks, like petticoats, waist-cinching tweeds and innocent floral frocks. For the finale, Elle Macpherson debuted a glamorous blush-colored gown with corseted bustier, which looked amazing on her hourglass figure. Thank you Marc Jacobs for proving that clothes really do look best on women with curves!

Reese Witherspoon Heads to Washington

Mar 11, 2010 @ 10:30 am

Avon Global Ambassador Reese Witherspoon made the rounds in Washington D.C. yesterday to promote the beauty brand’s initiatives to end violence against women. The actress began her day at the State Department looking lovely in a Roland Mouret dress for the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women breakfast. After attending the International Women of Courage Awards, which was hosted by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, she finished the night at the Kennedy Center, which hosted the Vital Voices 2010 Global Leadership Awards. Along with her outreach as Avon’s ambassador, Witherspoon also helped launch the Women’s Empowerment Ring, which she wore during her D.C. visit and is sold for $5 on avon.com. All proceeds will support domestic violence programs throughout the U.S. “There is nothing more important for all of us than ensuring the safety of women and girls everywhere,” Witherspoon said in a statement. “It’s critical that we find ways to work together, as a global community, to combat it.”

America Ferrera’s Custom Wedding Gown

Mar 11, 2010 @ 10:00 am

What’s the first word that comes to mind when Our Family Wedding‘s America Ferrera hears someone say “bride?” “Dress!” exclaimed the star of the nuptial-themed comedy, which hits theaters this Friday. For her character’s walk down the aisle, Ferrera wears an ivory re-embroidered lace (a more textured lace than traditional Chantilly) gown custom-made by Monique Lhuillier, and we got the exclusive sketch of the gorgeous dream dress! The good news for brides-to-be? You can custom order the “Lucia” gown (named after Ferrera’s character) at the Monique Lhuillier Salon.
