Why Sandra Bullock Looked So Good

Mar 8, 2010 @ 6:45 pm

With her sleek hair, shimmery gown and (ahem!) Best Actress award, last night was all about Sandra Bullock. So how did the star prepare her skin for all that attention? A top-secret visit to celebrity facialist Tracie Martyn for a Red Carpet Facial, a non-invasive treatment that combines mild electric current and LED lights for an instantly tightening and toning effect. Martyn is based out of New York, but when she’s in Los Angeles for awards season, she sets up shop in a conveniently located hotel. “We give our clients ultimate privacy,” says Marius Morariu, Martyn’s business partner. “They enter through a locked private entrance and are escorted to a secret suite.” At $450 a session, the service isn’t cheap—but the results are, well, award-winning. Madonna’s Oscar Night Cocktail

Mar 8, 2010 @ 2:00 pm

While we’re sure more than a few cocktails were downed in Hollywood last night, not many have the distinction of being imbibed by Madonna and her BFFs. At the post-Oscar soiree she hosted with Demi Moore at manager Guy Oseary’s L.A. pad, partygoers like Lady Gaga, Anna Kendrick and Maggie Gyllenhaal enjoyed the Vita Coco Caipirinha (Madge is an investor in the all-natural coconut water company). Want to sip like a star? Follow this recipe:

Ingredients:
3 oz Cachaca
4 oz Vita Coco Tangerine
4 lime wedges (squeezed & tossed, not muddled)

Mo’Nique’s Look: An Oscar Tribute

Mar 8, 2010 @ 1:15 pm

Mo’Nique may have walked away with the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress last night for her role in Precious, but it was her brilliant blue gown that earned her a spot in the sartorial hall of fame for most sentimental. The Tadashi Shoji dress, along with the flower pinned in her hair, paid homage to Hattie McDaniel, the first African American actress to receive an Oscar. “This is actually the same color she wore when she walked down the red carpet in 1940,” Mo’Nique said in the press room. “This is also the same flower—a gardenia—she wore in her hair.”

SJP Rocks a Chanel Tattoo at the Oscars

Mar 8, 2010 @ 12:00 pm

We couldn’t help but notice that hidden among Sarah Jessica Parker’s stack of Fred Leighton diamond bracelets was a tattoo from Chanel’s Les Trompe-L’oeil temporary skin art collection! The single strand of tattooed round diamonds blended naturally with the real stones for a subtle yet creative complement to Parker’s pale yellow Chanel Couture gown. The trend-setting actress proved once again that it’s all about the details!
